Meghan: Oh hey Reed, thanks for talking into my good ear.
Reed: No problem.
Meghan: I know it's kind of tough to remember which one is which.
Reed: Nah, it's not hard. I just remember right is wrong and left is right.
Meghan: That's funny that my left ear is the good ear.
Reed: Kind of like that guy in Italian Job.
Meghan: Oh my gosh! Left Ear!
Reed: Yeah, Left Ear.
Meghan: I've always wanted to be like that guy. Either that or Marky Mark. (*wink*)
Reed: You wanted to blow up a toilet and lose hearing in your right ear?
Meghan: Haven't you always wanted to do that?
Reed: And there's something even cooler. Do you know what an abbreviation of Left Ear is?
Meghan: L.E. Ellie!!!! [Ellie is the nickname of my little niece who moved away and I miss her a ton]

CTR 6
Today marks the end of me teaching the CTR 6 year olds...it's been a fun and crazy year. Now I get to teach the CTR 7 year olds! Same kids, different seating arrangements and new adventures. They get baptized this year so I've got some plans to make it a super special year for them.
Here's a picture of my kiddos with their reverence charts.

Super-Meghan: Origin Story
| Super-Reed and Fro-Zone |
While we were eating breakfast, Reed and I chatted about what movie marathon we should have today. That branched into a discussion of Lord of the Rings versus Star Wars. I asked Reed, "Reed, is my Star Wars obsession as annoying as other people's Lord of the Rings obsession?". He thought for a minute and replied "No, because your origin story is a good one".
Origin Story: Way back when I was a youngling [Star Wars reference], my dad was very interested in science fiction. We watched Star Wars IV, V, and VI so often that I had it memorized well before my teen years. One day I was at the library and checked out a Fantastic Four comic book and Daddy mentioned that his favorite comic was Spiderman. So I checked out all the Spiderman comics that I could get my hands on. This resulted in many fun discussions with my dad about the complexities of Spiderman and his story. A few years later, Dad was engrossed in a science fiction book called Enders' Game. He seemed to really like the story so I borrowed it from him. Again, the result was a lot of bonding with my dad over the subtleties of the post-apocalyptic science fiction world created by Orson Scott Card.
Flash forward to the present and it is pretty clear that I got interested in science fiction and superhero's because I wanted to have something special to share with my dad. And that is what Reed reminded me of this morning when I was worried that my Star Wars obsession was really annoying. Now let's see if Reed thinks it's annoying if I talk like Chewbacca all day. ;-) *evil laugh*

Cute Picture
I couldn't resist this picture of Reed and our niece. She absolutely loves him and spends every minute possible with him. :-)
PS. When Reed saw this picture he was like "that reminds me of in the Lion King when Mufasa is showing Simba the kingdom". You know, the part where he says "everything the light touches is our kingdom". haha

A Real Life Conversation Between a Married Couple
Reed: So I used our debit card and I spent _____ dollars on tuition.Meghan (mockingly straight-faced): Oh, that might be a problem since I spent $2000 on a shopping spree last night.
Reed (in his joking voice): What?!
Meghan: That's right. I spent $2000 on
Subway sandwiches.
Reed: You couldn't have. We get alerts if we spend more than $1 on that card. *(Alerts are set up so that we know if the card gets stolen...especially since we almost never use that particular card)*
Meghan: I know. That's why I bought the sandwiches in 99 cent increments.
Reed: Oh good thinking! Way to get around that.
Notice that my husband didn't appear to have a problem with me buying a bajillion Subway sandwiches. ;-)
