This week's great adventure involved two of my favorite things. Pizza and Reed (not in that order). My older sister Leesa was up visiting from Portland this week and Reed had the idea that we should have one of our friends from the branch go on a date with her! So we arranged to have a double date at Reed's house where we would make pizza and play board games.
The date was so much fun! Reed is really quite amazing at getting people to find common ground and start chatting...whenever he noticed conversation starting to wane, he would intervene with an anecdote to get things going again. We each assembled a pizza (Reed and I did a super duper cheesy with extra pepperoni and sausage pizza) and then had fun eating it messily. Pizza is a no-silverware meal for us. I did my part in making things less awkward by eating all messy and gross so that everybody else looked polite in comparison. ;-)
After pizza we played Apples to Apples for an hour and then watched BYU Divine Comedy and SuperBowl Commercials. Leesa and her date (Mike) continued to chat about things that they both have in common that are not so common for most people. They both share an interest in raising animals and in animal skins (purely animals that are pests....like coyotes and racoons). How often do you find two people interested in that?! Right around midnight we all went our separate ways. Mike walked Leesa to her car and even got her phone number! Reed walked me to my car and got my phone number too. Maybe he'll ask me out again. haha
So the evening was definitely a success! Now we're looking forward to Valentine's Day....the anniversary of our first date ever!
