It was a balmy, summer morning in Las Vegas. Meghan and Reed ventured out on their daily walk to Meghan's work. They exited the gates to their neighborhood and stepped onto a little gravel pathway. As Meghan's foot, dressed in open toed shoes, made contact with the gravel she heard a frantic, skittering noise. She looked down to see a MASSIVE cockroach making a beeline for her bare foot! It was as big as a car and it was wanting blood....she could see it in the beady eyes and mashing pincers. Meghan shrieked and leaped six and nine tenths inches into the air. Fortunately the six and nine tenths inches leap also propelled her forward and even farther out of the path. When she made contact with the ground she continued to hear skitter and in horror she turned around. The cockroach was still in hot pursuit! She fled down the driveway without regard to the inherent dangers of the road. Reed soon called out that the bug was no longer in pursuit but the damage was done. Meghan had a bad case of the heebie jeebies. She certainly wasn't consoled when Reed told her that that was the biggest cockroach that he had ever seen. Isn't the desert a wonderful place? *shudder*
And Mr. Cockroach is still there...somewhere
